OUR PROGRAMS

When most people think of youth ministry, they often think of programs. Our programs exist only to support our purpose, the help reach our audiences and reflect our values. Programs for the 2007-08 school year include the following:

Sunday School (Sundays 9:30-10:30 am)

You needn’t be scared off by the world “school!” this is a great opportunity to increase in maturity and knowledge of jesus Christ. To be better equipped to imitate Christ with our lives.

OTTAGETTU (Wednesday’s 6:30-8 pm)

This is often the first introduction for a student into The Point Youth Ministry. Each Wednesday we focus on providing an encouraging atmosphere; loads of fun; opportunities for involvement; and an understandable message from God’s Word. Our “regular” students are encouraged to invite their un-churched friends to OTTAGETTU.

Life Groups (1st & 3rd Sundays 6:30-8 pm)

In order to give students a place to deeply connect with a few Christ-following friends and adult caregivers, a LIFE group of 8-10 students can be established to meet and find support from teens and adult leaders. There, students can grow closer to God through Bible study, prayer and life-on-life sharing in same-gender small groups.

Dinner for Six

An occasional meal at Pastor Gene & Joey’s house, helping us to Live together. A great way to know and be known.

H.A.B.I.T.S.

Resources spiritually maturing students use on their own and at their own pace to help move towards Christlikeness. They are intended to help establish the habits of a daily “quiet time” with God, accountability to and with another follower of Jesus, Bible memorization, involvement with the whole church family (not just the Youth Ministry) financial giving and the personal study of Scripture.

Ministry Teams (days & times TBA)

God has given everyone talents to be used to share the Good News of Jesus. Jr. & Sr. High students get to use and develop these skills through Service Projects, Praise Team, Drama Team, Leadership Team, Mission Trips, Nursery Help, etc. In a sense, they are Putting Faith to Work.

Big Mac Ski Attack (1st Weekend of February)

Our big winter retreat in the mountains of western Pennsylvania is a means of encouragement to Love God with all our hearts. Skiing and other activities are on the schedule, but opportunities for praise and worship and the receiving of Biblical instruction are the focus of the weekend.

Special Events (days & times vary)

We’re never at a loss to figure out wholesome ways to have a good time. Such trademarks of youth ministry include concerts, camps, laser tag, paintball, go carts, amusement parks, scavenger hunts, roller skating, bowling, and many more!
